Colourful Seasons Joseph’s Coat

Hello everyone, we are coming towards the end of summer but I really enjoy our long indian summers as they lead into April. The time of year and in particular the season of autumn was my inspiration for today’s card. I decided to use the Joseph’s coat technique we were taught at Stamp Camp this year but to use autumn colours and the colourful seasons stamp set. I selected the open maple leaf and chose ink colours for the leaves of crushed curry, tangerine tango and cherry cobbler – a favourite of mine. I’ve also used Memento Black for the negative resist effect over hte leaves stamped in versamark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

This card took me out of my comfort zone as the regals set of colours are not usually my first pick. The base card is crushed curry, the mat basic black dry embossed using the Petal Burst embossing folder and very vanilla cardstock to stamp on for the card front and the insert. The finishing touches are the copper foil leaf using the colourful seasons thinlits, and Celebrate You thinlits for the sentiment in crushed curry.

I was thrilled with the finished result and when I taught this at our mini extravaganza the ladies loved it and were very proud to have made it.

Picture Perfect Birthday

Hello everyone, today I am sharing a couple of cards made using the Picture Perfect Birthday Suite – I’ve used the paper, and the stamp set to showcase two different cards using these products which are unashamedly all about birthdays!

Both cards were designed by a fellow demonstrator and friend Paula Reid. The first card she taught to all of us demonstrators at our stamp camp in February, the second at our team training at the end of January.

The first card uses the designer series paper, the candles and hooter stamps because what birthday party doesn’t have a hooter! And inside this card is a small “purse which is the perfect pressie card holder.

The second card again uses the designer paper, the simple stripes embossing folder which I love, berry burst ribbon, sequins and the layering circles framelits. I’ve used the same stamp sets and different greetings, and a bit of glitter on the candle flames of each card.

Heartfelt Blooms Black Ice Technique

Hello everyone, I have been having so much fun recently crafting and learning new techniques and enjoying time with other demonstrators and crafters at classes. Today I want to share with you a technique I learned from an Australian Stampin’ Up demonstrator, thank you Melissa Kerman.

I taught this card at our March card class and everyone was amazed at the effect they achieved. Even when someone made a “variation” we used it as an opportunity for creativity – it looked amazing and nobody ever guessed there was a slight faux pas underneath.

All the cards used are from the current sale-a-bration catalogue so that means they are free with a qualifying order. The first card uses the beautiful Heartfelt Blooms stamp set on a card base of basic grey, black mat, and silver foil. I’ve used basic black archival ink to get the black, darkened streaky effect, and then versamark with clear embossing powder for the “ice” effect. The foil is adhered to whisper white cardstock with a burst of colour from the berry burst ribbon and itty bitty bows – pre-made and self adhesive.

For variation I’ve used the same black ice technique with the Amazing You stamp set also from the sale-a-bration catalogue in the card below. The stamp set is changed, and this time I used the Fresh Fig card base, black mat and champagne foil which I adhered onto very vanilla cardstock for a softer effect. I finished the card off again with fresh fig ribbon and an itty bitty bow.

The third card in the series used another stamp from the Amazing You stamp set and I thought this could be used as a masculine card if that’s what was needed. The card base is soft suede, on a black mat, very vanilla and champagne foil, and the ribbon is the lovely copper trim ribbon for the more masculine look.

The cards certainly have the wow effect and are fun and easy as well. I hope you give this a try. If you are interested in any of these products or in coming to a class to make some of these projects please contact me.
