Hello everyone, today’s card is the second from our April card class when we made two ladies’ cards that will be great mother’s day cards but are not only for mother’s day.  Our first project was a bit fiddly so our next project was less complicated but still has that wow factor.  I have called it a double point fun fold card for obvious reasons -there are two points, and it is a fancy fold card!

For supplies I decided to showcase the gorgeous delightful daisy designer series paper and then I decided it needed something dainty on the card front to tie in with the paper.  I ended up choosing this stamp from the Touches of Texture stamp set.

The first card uses wisteria wonder cardstock 10.5 x 14.5 cm and whisper white  10 x 14 cm.  In the class the ladies making this version had a calypso coral cardstock mat (10 x 14 cm) and the whisper white was 9.5 x 13.5 cm.  The dimensions for the paper are two pieces 7.5 x 10 cm, scored on the short side at 2.5cm.  Once adhered to the back of the whisper white the paper may need trim slightly at the edges.

The second card is night of navy and daffodil delight cardstock, same measurements as above.  Using the layering oval framelits I have die cut scalloped oval in navy and whisper white, and plain layered ovals for the whisper white and mat. The colouring was completed using blender pens and either watercolour pencils or stamp pad and finished with wink of stella and pearls in the open flowers.

The card opens up as shown above it is important to ensure the stamping on the insert is hidden underneath the oval on  the card front.

Hello friends, the card today is one we made at our card class this month and it was one of two cards that could be used as Mother’s Day cards. The design is one I used for a Christmas card that I made for a friend, and I decided to use the design and make this ladies card for Mother’s Day.

We made the cards in two of this year’s in colours, fresh fig and powder pink.  I’ve used lots of tone on tone again with this card using the same colour cardstock, and fresh florals designer series paper to match, some gold foil for the fresh fig card, and silver foil for the powder pink one.  Once the paper is cut to a pennant shape starting with a 6″x12″ piece of designer paper, and adhered to the whisper white cardstock, attached to the base card you create the fancy fold by folding the pennant back on itself twice at the card edges.

The layered square framelits die cut the labels on the front and the sentiment is from You’ve Got Style stamp set.  We then started making some handmade flowers using the pansy punch and the flower shop stamp set.  Each flower is sponged on the edges and 3 punched flowers make up one of the flowers on the card.  So to get the look on these cards, you will need 6 flowers in the coloured cardstock, and 3 stamped flowers on whisper white thick.

Snip at the side of each petal on each punched flower towards the centre, and adhere the bottom 2  punched flowers together in each of the whole flowers off-setting the middle one. Take the top punched flower and snip beside each petal towards the centre, and snip down the centre of each petal creating extra petals – this forms the top of each flower and adhere with glue dots.  We very carefully curled the edges of each petal under using a bone folder before assembling the flowers, and then scrunched the flowers to give us a “cupped flower look”. One flower was attached to the corner of the label on the card front, and two on the first card insert (below).  We used either  gold or clear faceted gems for the flower centres.

The first secret card insert has a greeting from the Beautiful You stamp set stamped on whisper white with foil and coloured card mats, and the two flowers to add some decoration.  The second and main card insert was stamped with one of the images from either Beautiful You or You’ve Got Style according to taste.

Hello everyone, today I am quickly writing a blog post before getting ready for a demonstrator’s special event tomorrow where we get our first glimpse of the new annual catalogue.

So today I’m showcasing the second project from our March mini extravaganza and it is unashamedly all about the designer series paper from the Occasions catalogue.  We used the Painted with Love paper and made a cheeky peekaaboo card using the window sheets and the sweet and sassy thinlit dies for the layered heart look.

The card stock coordinated with the paper and for the two cards above we’ve used calypso coral and rich razzleberry, gold foil and a metallic enamel shape in the centre of the heart. The sentiment on the card insert peeking through to the right of the heart is from the Pretty Kitty stamp set which is a real winner.
