Butterfly Gala Vertical Stretch Card

Hello everyone today I am sharing one of the projects we made at our first card class for 2019. Yesterday was slightly cooler than the very hot weather we’ve been having so a perfect day for crafting. Our focus was the Butterfly Gala Bundle – the photopolymer stamp set and coordinating duet punch before stocks run out and we need to wait on back orders.

I combined the Butterfly Gala bundle with two of the sale-a-bration items – the organdy ribbon combo pack which is also in low supply, and the Botanical Butterfly designer series paper. This first card has a multicolour card front and a monotone middle card front in lemon lime twist.

The 3 D butterflies have been coloured with Stampin Blends and wink of stella. The greetings are from the Butterfly Gala stamp set and die cut using the First Frost framelits. A little twist of organdy ribbon and rhinestones finish the card.

The second card has a highland heather base and the card front back ground is grapefruit grove with coloured butterflies. The butterfly duet punch perfectly punches out the butterflies.

Supplies and dimensions are as follows: Cardstock lemon lime twist / highland heather 10.5cm x 28cm, scored on the long side at 7cm, 10.8cm. 18.4cm, 21.6cm; Whisper white 10cm x 5.7cm; scrap white and coordinating mat cardstock for greeting and butterflies; DSP 2 pieces 10cm x 10cm; coordinating organdy ribbon, rhinestones, wink of stella and stampin blends.

After completing the stamping and colouring the butterflies assemble the card from the bottom up ensuring the card and DSP aligns. The middle section of DSP should completely hide the card insert when finished, and the card front should hide the butterflies in the middle – a surprise for the person opening the card. The finished card fits inside a standard envelope.

Share What You Love Part 3 – Reinforced box and Belly Band for Ferrero Rocher

Hello friends, today’s project is the last in the Share What You Love gift series and showcases a reinforced box and belly band to hold 3 ferrero rocher the perfect Christmas chocolate. This little box is reinforeced to keeps its shape and provides a bit of substance with the pull/push to retrieve the chocolates and even to recycle. I have used the same DSP and cardstock, and the ribbon is a variation on the theme with the velvet tranquil tide ribbon.

The stamp set I have used is Strong and Beautiful cling stamp and I love the words in this set – they are very special. To make the box cut cardstock 23.5 cm x 17 cm and score at 2.5 cm and 6.25 cm on all 4 sides. On the long sides cut the first 2 score lines to the 2nd score line (see You Tube by Sandra Ronald, Arty Paper Crafters). Remove relevant sections at each corner and cut wedges to create folding flaps. Punch hole at one end and adhere ribbon to inside of flap and complete assembly of reinforced box.

Cut DSP for belly band 18 cm x 10.6 cm and score on long side at 4.1 cm, 8.2 cm, 12.3 cm and 16.4 cm. Cut DSP for insert 11 cm x 10 cm score on long side at 3.7 and 7.4 cm. Fold insert on score lines and adhere to inside of box. Stamp greetings onto whisper white cardstock and punch out / die cut attaching one to the inside wall. When dry, insert chocolates and wrap belly band around box adhering to itself on the underside, making sure the band is loose enough to allow the box to be pulled out to retrieve the chocolates. Embellish with a bow and share what you love pearls.

Share What You Love Part 2 – Pocket Tissue Holder

Hello friends, this is the next part in our Share What You Love gift project and today focuses on the Pocket Tissue Holder. Because all the items are coordinated we are using the same design of paper from the Share What You Love series, and tranquil tide cardstock and ribbon.

Tranquil tide cardstock is 21 cm x 11.5 cm scored on the long side at 5 cm, 7 cm, 12.5 cm, 14.5 cm and 20 cm. DSP pieces are cut as follows: 2 pieces 1.5 cm x 11 cm; 1 piece 4.5 cm x 11 cm; and 1 piece 5 cm x 11 cm. DSP is adhered on the 2 spines, the front and inside front but not on the base which is the middle section when the cardstock is laid flat.

The inside front measures 5 cm x 11 cm and after adhering the DSP die cut or punch an oval shape in the centre of this piece so that the tissues can be pulled through. Take the pocket tissues out of the plastic packing and place in the newly made holder and then fold the front insert over the top and attach firmly to the inside spine. Cut 45 cm ribbon and attach to the back of the project folding around to tie in a bow at the side.

Share What you Love Christmas Gift Part 1

Hello everyone, today’s project is in two parts and show cases a gift I made for some friends for Christmas. The first part is a carry bag to hold the goodies containing snail, ferrero rocher, pocket tissues, pen and a small book to jot instructions, supply needs or even shopping lists. Today I’ll show case the bag itself and the covered book below. Each person received coordinated goodies with a different design from the Share What you Love DSP. For this person the coordinating cardstock and ribbon is tranquil tide.

To make the carry bag I first made a box 12cm long x 8 cm wide x 5 cm high to provide a sturdy base for the bag and so it would sit flat. The designer series paper is 15 cm high and wrapped around the base of the box adhered to the outside. There is a join in the DSP to ensure it wraps right around the base, which I attached before adhering to the base.

To attach the ribbon I punched two holes either side and tied the length of ribbon through. The oval shape is the cut out from one of the projects in part 2, with DSP on the back and the first letter of the person’s name in retired soft sky cardstock. This is attached to the ribbon with black bakers twine.

The second part of this project was to cover a notebook (although this is about a size 1E exercise book) for people to write instructions etc for their projects. The paper is attached directly to the book cover and the image and greeting from the Share What You Love stamp set. The shapes were cut using the bigshot and the layering squares and stitched layering framelits. Inks used were tranquil tide for the greeting, memento black, mint macaron and rich razzleberry. The final touch was the Share what You Love Artisan Pearls.

Frosted Florals Baby Wipe Technique

Hello everyone, I realise I have been rather remiss in maintaining my social media sites lately due to personal circumstances and the holiday period. Rather then try and catch up on all the things I’ve done I just want to showcase a couple of projects made up to December and then move on to projects from the Occasions catalogue and sale-a-bration items.

This card showcases the beautiful frosted florals designer series paper (now retired) and the frost florals bundle which has carried over from the Holiday catalogue. In my view this DSP was the best ever produced by Stampin’ Up but I guess we all have our individual tastes.

The card is a standard size with whisper white thick as the base card, mat in tranquil tide and the pearlised DSP on top. As this was a Christmas version I have die cut the holly berries from whisper white thick and champagne foil.

To make a stamp pad for my flowers using the baby wipe technique I folded 2 or 3 baby wipes and set them inside a clear stamp case. To ink up I chose 3 coordinating ink refill colours – in this case I went for last years in colours fresh fig, berry burst and powder pink. Starting with fresh fig I dropped individual drops of ink around the baby wipes, followed the same by berry burst, and filled in any gaps with powder pink. Having made my stamp pad, I attached the floral stamps and stamped flowers onto scrap whisper white. I also stamped my greeting using the same technique. As you see no two flowers are exactly the same – love the technique!

After cutting the flowers and sentiment using the frosted florals thinlits I attached the sentiment to it’s tranquil tide mat, and arranged the flowers and holly as desired. The final sentiment and floral arrangement is attached using dimensionals. Rhinestones provide the final embellishment to a card design that I have used for birthday, sympathy, Christmas and it would also make a great wedding/engagement or even retirement card.
