Incredible Like You Two Step Stamping with Rectangle Framelits

Hi there, today I am sharing a card using the Incredible Like You photopolymer stamp set from the Occasions catalogue. I was inspired for this card by a version of this card is in the catalogue itself, and a demonstrator friend of mine Paula Reid. We made the card at our card c;lass last week and for this version I decided to use 2 bright new colours to make this card pop – mango melody and poppy parade.

The card base is whisper white thick 14 cm x 20 cm scored at 10 cm. You will also need whisper white cardstock – 1 piece 31/4″ x 4 3/4″ (card front); 1 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ (sentiment); 3 cm x 8 cm(sentiment backing); 13 cm x 10 cm (insert); 2″ x 2 1/2″ for flowers; poppy parade cardstock 13 cm x 10 cm, linen thread 16 cm. Inks for the poppy parade card are mango melody, poppy parade, early espresso and pear pizzazz.

To make the card stamp your images on the card front and insert. Stamp your two mango melody flowers and cut out by hand. Die cut your frames using the bigshot and two of the layering framelits for the outer frame and two for the sentiment frame.

For the rich razzleberry card above I have swapped rich razzleberry cardstock and ink for the poppy parade, and used shaded spruce instead of pear pizzazz.

Remember to adhere the linen thread underneath the outer frame and then attach the frame over the top.

This was card where everyone needed to follow instructions as it was tempting to use the wrong size frame or to attach it to the card base instead of the card front. The finished effect was great. Flowering Desert – A Visual Symphony

Hi there, today’s share is the Flowering Desert stamp set which at first passed me by in the Occasions catalogue but it has definitely grown on me and in fact takes me back to my younger days. I don’t immediately think of the cactus as a plant that thrives in New Zealand, but when we were growing up my mother had a garden of succulents and she called it a visual symphony. It was her pride and joy, so today’s card is a tribute to her and to being a bit different.

I have cased this card from one made by Jacque Williams and the two things I like most about this card are it’s simplicity , and the designer nature of the succulent garden. The card base is black in a standard card size 29 cm x 10.5 cm scored at 14.5 cm.There are 2 pieces of whisper white cardstock 10 cm x 14 cm, one for the card front and one for the insert. Designer series paper 1.5″ by 10 cm, black bakers twine and pearls to embellish.

The paper I’ve used here is the ‘B’ side of one of the sheets from the Share What You Love paper, and it was just small strips that I couldn’t use for a project but here it fits perfectly. My ink colours were chosen to coordinate with the paper and so of course Berry Burst played a leading role for the flowers and the sentiment. The succulents themselves are stamped in granny apple green, pool party, mint macaron and shaded spruce. The trick when stamping is to position your paper on the whisper white card so you know where to stamp without getting ink on the paper.

We made this yesterday as one of the projects in our card class. Everyone in class made their own designer succulents and visual symphony and I think they just look luscious!

Butterfly Gala on Gingham

Hello everyone today I am sharing another set of cards using the Butterfly Gala stamp set and duet punch that we used in last month’s class. In this set I have paired the Butterfly Gala bundle with the gingham designer series paper, the sale-a-bration ribbon combo pack, and the layering circle framelits.

The card is a standard size at 10.5 cm x 29 cm scored at 14.5 cm, and this first one is calypso coral. The black mat is 10 cm x 14 cm, and the whisper white card front 9.5 cm x 13.5 cm. The black mat for the gingham paper is 5.5 cm x 9.5 cm, and the gingham paper is 5 cm x 9.5 cm. You will see that the gingham comes in two sizes and I have tried both, and like both. The coordinating ribbon is 16.5cm.

Extra whisper white cardstock is needed for the butterflies, and also for the sentiment with a black mat. I have tried different colouring techniques on each set of butterlies. The highland heather card I used sponge daubers with highland heather and gorgeous grape inks.

The calypso coral card I have used watercolour pencils and blender pens, and the balmy blue and daffodil delight cards are coloured using Stampin’ Blends.

The stamp sets were a range to give me sentiments I was after – a mix of birthday, thank you and a card for a friend for no particular reason. The 3 rhinestones strategically placed finish the card perfectly.
